Calls to shutdown this dangerous plant

Well rumour has it that the report is complete and will be rolled out after the shutdown and there best spin urmmm I mean guess is that it was the butler who did it, urrm sorry the scaffolders. If only they ( the scaffolders) had not tried to put up scaffolding near a corroded carbon steel nipple (wrong metal) that was already leaking acid. No mention apparently of the guys off sick or the ones that have left in fear of there lives. No mention that most of the new shutdown workers are keeping a large distance between them and THAT plant.

I wonder what the local residents are thinking now, see Caltex's Health and safety report from 2002 and 2003.
P.S I wonder what 100 litres of HF leaking to atmosphere ( 100 litres of gas = approx 2200 cubic metres of gas thats a big gas cloud.) has on the local residents??
PPS they were saved that day by a strong wind which blew the gas away, were to ?? who knows. I wonder if they are going to add the wind factor into there procedures now ha ha.

Look at this...
Caltex Health, Safety & Community Report for 2002 & 2003
Partnering with the local community

In 2003 Caltex employed a market research firm to survey over 200 residences in Hemmant,Pinkenba and Wynnum about their views on living in the vicinity of major hazardous facilities including the Caltex refinery. About two thirds of people interviewed said they were concerned about having chemicals produced and stored in the area and feared there could be an incident that could affect them or the surrounding environment. Nevertheless, there was a general acceptance of the facilities in the area and this was supported by the fact that there had been no major incidents in the past. Most people (93%) considered that the petrochemical industry is important to the economy, and 60% thought that petrochemical companies in the Brisbane River region were well run.
